Offers a unique vantage point that is located on the Drakensberg Escarpment. It stands at an altitude of 6,000 feet and extends northward over the Blyde River Canyon. It offers magnificent views of canyons, rock formations, waterfalls, as well as the Kruger National Park
The reason the spot is called God’s Window is because of the panoramic view that it offers of the Lowveld, which is located more than 900 meters below in the indigenous forest. There are majestic cliffs that plunge over 700 meters to the Lowveld and over the years the area has become one of South Africa’s prime destinations for wildlife.
God’s Window in Mpumalanga is actually just a small part of a 250km long earthwork of cliff and beauty. Standing on top of the amazing vantage point and looking down it will seem like the world goes on forever and ever. In addition to this, there are a number of viewing sites that are provided along the length of the Blyde River Canyon. Here adventurers can partake in a number of activities like walking, hiking, horseback riding, and mountain bike trails.
Be sure to visit the new Graskop Gorge Lift while you are in the area.
If you are lucky enough to visit the area on a clear day, you will be provided views over the Kruger National Park towards the Lebombo Mountains that border on Mozambique.
